As Worn By Miss Universe 2024
Victoria Kjær, Miss Universe 2024, chose House of Yas to receive the Keys to Miami — wearing the Celia Cruz Tribute dress. A wearable homage to La Guarachera de Cuba: her fire, her color, her defiance, her joy.

"I design because silence is not an option. Every stitch is a word my ancestors could not say out loud — a prayer, a protest, a love letter to the land I carry inside me. Fashion is not what you wear. It is how you declare yourself free."
— Yas Gonzalez · House Designer & Founder
The House
House of Yas is built on two disciplines — fashion and fine art — led by two of Miami's most distinctive creative voices.
House Designer & Founder
Born in Cuba. Forged in Miami. Educated at Parsons School of Design and Miami International University of Art and Design, Yas Gonzalez is one of the most accomplished independent fashion designers to emerge from South Florida. She built House of Yas from a warehouse atelier into an internationally recognized brand, designing custom pieces for the Emmy, Grammy, Tony, and Billboard Latin Music Awards. Her collections have walked Miami Fashion Week, Dubai Fashion Week, Milan, London, Vancouver, and Paris. In 2024, Miss Universe Victoria Kjær chose her Celia Cruz Tribute dress to receive the Keys to Miami at the Gary Nader Art Centre. British Vogue named her a Rising Star; Miami Fashion Week awarded her Best Brand Narrative in 2026. A published author of The Art of Fashion: A Yas Gonzalez Method, she is also founder of The Yas Gonzalez Foundation — supporting emerging artists and children with autism through the arts. Her work is rooted in the conviction that fashion carries memory, culture, and the stories a people cannot afford to forget.
Art Director
Born in Morón, Cuba, Asiel Babastro is a filmmaker, visual artist, and art director whose work moves between cinema, fine art, and cultural resistance. In 2021 he directed the music video for "Patria y Vida" — the protest anthem that became the soundtrack of Cuba's most significant uprising since 1959, earning a Latin Grammy nomination for Song of the Year and costing him his right to ever return to Cuba. His work has been exhibited at Art Basel Miami and in collections across Germany, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. As Art Director of House of Yas he shapes the visual identity of every campaign — treating the garment as canvas and the body as the final brushstroke. His collaboration with Yas Gonzalez, Babastro x Yas, debuts its ECTOMORFOS collection at Art Basel Miami 2026.
