Queridos lectores, Paris is still glowing. The couture ateliers have fallen quiet after a Fall/Winter season that gave us thirty maisons in four sweltering July days, and the stories it left behind read like fables. At Chanel, Matthieu Blazy conjured a whimsical universe of climbing vines and beanstalk heels, sending his first model down the runway carrying a century-old leatherbound book of fairytales once owned by Coco Chanel herself — a reminder that in couture, memory is the rarest material of all. At the Musée Rodin, Jonathan Anderson's second couture outing for Dior turned to the sculptor Lynda Benglis, trading polish for the poetry of form.

The season's most awaited chapter belonged to Pierpaolo Piccioli, who stepped onto the Balenciaga runway for the first time since his celebrated tenure at Valentino. Watching a master of romantic color take the reins of a house built on austere architecture felt like witnessing two accents learning to speak one language — proof that reinvention, done with reverence, is its own form of heritage. Duran Lantink's deconstructed debut at Jean Paul Gaultier and Manish Malhotra's first Bollywood couture in Paris only deepened the sense that this was a season of daring introductions.

Away from the ateliers, the front rows of Wimbledon's ladies' final offered a gentler kind of theater on Sunday. Lily Collins, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Yerin Ha — the latter in a striped, school-uniform-inspired Thom Browne look with frayed edges — showed that summer dressing at its best is discipline softened by play. It was elegance without armor, the sort we hold dear in Miami.

And for those of us who build houses of our own, the business pages carried something worth underlining. New research from BoF Insights and McKinsey finds that luxury clients increasingly measure a brand's worth not in logos but in access, moments, and memories — and that the most devoted secondhand shoppers are luxury's highest spenders, not its most cautious. In an age when algorithms shape what we see, it is intimacy, story, and craftsmanship that clients keep returning to. For independent designers, that is not a warning; it is an invitation.

It is the invitation House of Yas was founded on. We know that a garment can hold a memory the way that leatherbound book of fairytales held a century — that exile, nostalgia, and the colors of Cuba can be sewn into a seam and carried across water. From our atelier in Miami, we keep writing that story in gold and teal, one hand-finished piece at a time. Come turn the page with us: explore the collections at houseofyas.com.
